This website is run by Friends of Kings Park (Scottish Charity SC038449). This policy explains what limited information the site collects and how cookies are used. It applies to kingsparkstirling.org.

We do not ask you to create an account or submit personal details to browse this site. If you choose to accept analytics cookies, we collect anonymised statistics about how the site is used (for example which pages are popular and roughly which region visitors come from) to help us improve it. We do not use this to identify you. The map’s “You are here” button uses your device’s location, and only while you switch it on: the position is read by your browser, drawn on your own screen, and never sent to us or to anyone else, and never stored.

If you send us a message through the contact form, we keep what you give us — your name, email address and message, and any photograph you attach — so that we can read it and reply. A photograph is stored privately, not on the public website, and we remove location and camera details from the file when it arrives. By attaching one you confirm that you took it, or have the photographer’s permission, and that we may use it on this website and in our printed materials with a credit. We keep messages only for as long as we need them, and will delete yours if you ask.

When you first visit, we ask whether you are happy for us to use Google Analytics. We store your choice in a small first-party cookie (kp_consent) so we do not have to ask again; this cookie is essential to remember your preference and is always set once you choose.

Only if you select “Accept” do we load Google Analytics 4, which sets its own cookies (such as _ga) to measure site usage. If you select “Reject”, no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics is not loaded at all. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, which will bring the banner back.

Analytics is provided by Google (Google Analytics 4). Map tiles are served by OpenStreetMap and Carto. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the contact form is being filled in by a person, messages sent through it reach us by email through Brevo, and photographs are stored on Amazon Web Services in London. These providers process the information needed to provide their service; please see their own privacy notices for details. We do not sell or share your information.

Under UK data protection law you have rights over any personal data we hold, including the right to see it and to ask us to delete it. Browsing this site does not identify you: analytics is anonymised and only runs if you accept it. If you have sent us a message and want to know what we hold, or want it deleted, or have any other questions, please contact Friends of Kings Park via friendsofkingspark.org.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page.
